2019 Sponsor: Red Fox Yarns, LLC
The website is www.redfoxyarns.com, and the e-mail is info@redfoxyarns.com. You can also find Red Fox Yarns as, well, redfoxyarns on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest & Ravelry!
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Oh my goodness - I get to play with yarn all day! And talk about yarn! If it wasn't for the paperwork involved, it wouldn't feel like work at all!
What is your Ravelry group/name?
Friends of Red Fox Yarns LLC- and the store's Rav is redfoxyarns!
Where are you located and what are your hours?
Address: 421 Church Street NE, Suite D, Vienna, VA 22180Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
What kinds of things do you carry?
Yarn (of course), from the machine-washable workhorses to the silky luxury fibers. Plus, we carry spinning fiber, plus needles, hooks and spindles. We've got project bags and notions, and even buttons! Everything is listed (and updated frequently) on the "Products" tab of our webpage! We have classes, too, and those can be found on the "Classes" tab.
How long have you been in business, and what inspired you to open your business?
The store's second birthday was February 1 this year - Red Fox Yarns is just over two years old! The NoVa area has had several yarn shops close as the owners retired in the last few years (including one in the space where Red Fox Yarns is now). I'd always wanted to have a needlework store of my own, and everything fell into place at the right time for it to happen!
What's your favorite thing about having your business?
2019: ColorStorms (new vendor!)
Whether indigo, madder, or cochineal, I've learned how to manipulate these natural dyes to make a huge variety of shades and hues, even on the same hank of yarn! Depending on the technique, I bring an exciting variety and intensity to my colors in fingering yarn, worsted weight, and fiber.

2019: Avalon Springs Farm
We are a small fiber farm and indie dye studio. Karen is the producer and artist. We focus on yarn, but also make: roving, patterns and kits. Our farm yarns are ours and locally sourced fleece, hand-dyed and cottage milled. Our studio yarns are the canvass for Karen's color-work, technique and expression on many fiber contents.
