2014: Cephalopod Yarns

Located in Baltimore, Maryland, we create hand-dyed, luxury yarns and fibers with a uniquely quirky, geeky bent. Using ethically- sourced materials and our own imaginations, we love making the materials that other fiber artists use in their own work. We work mostly in merino wool, baby camel down, silk, cashmere and alpaca, but we're always exploring new avenues!

2014: Cavey Family Sheep and Wool, Co.

My husband and I have raised and shown Montadale Sheep for 38 years. The sheep have won many prestigious awards in sheep shows as well as in fleece competitions. Once our sheep are shorn, the fleeces are handpicked by me to avoid second cuts which lead to pilling, packed and sent to Green Mountain Spinnery for processing into worsted weight yarn. I hand dye the yarn so there is a varied palette of beautiful colors available in addition to the naturals white and a natural grey.

2014: Ashton Studio Arts

We are proud to offer our premium hand dyed yarns and fibers for your next creative project. We custom dye semi-solid, hand painted fiber to satisfy even the most discriminating stash.

2014: All Things Nice

I have products for knitters and crocheters -- hand-dyed yarn, stitch markers and project bags.  I carry yarn in all weights and many different colors.  I also have a wide variety of different styles of project bags and a huge range of colored snag-free stitch markers.

2014: a little teapot designs

From full-bodied two-ply yarns swirling with color, to airy corespuns showcasing a bouquet of texture, a little teapot's hand-dyed handspun yarns make for a unique fiber adventure. We offer: subtle and smooth "single-note singles," and wildly textured "art-tea" art yarns/batts, featuring local fleeces, hand-blended with luxurious silk and cashmere.

2014: 222 Handspun

222 Handspun offers unique and colorful handspun yarn, hand dyed, hand carded fiber, and handcrafted tools for spinning, knitting, weaving, and felting. Featuring hand picked breed-specific wool sourced from local VA and MD farms chosen for its quality, texture, and hand spinning characteristics.

HYP Vendors for 2014!

Check out the list of this year's vendors on the side of the blog! We're very excited to have a lot of returning vendors, as well as some great new ones!

Become a sponsor!

Would you like to get your local yarn store or other crafty business in front of the more than 500 avid crafters who attend the Homespun Yarn Party? Read on!

We are entirely volunteer-coordinated and proud to support independent artists and local yarn shops.  To help pay for postcards to spread the word and for our party space, we are offering two sponsorship levels:

--For $40, your name and location/website will be listed in our program, and linked on our blog for a full year.  We will also make a separate blog post featuring your business (we will send you a questionnaire and you may include your logo or a photo of your products in the blog post).

--For $100, in addition to the link and profile post, you will be able to submit up to four blog posts throughout the year, announcing sales, special offers, or events.
All sponsors will be announced and thanked during the event, and listed on our sponsor board, which will be prominently displayed at the entrance.

Plus, HYP sponsors and vendors are able to post in our Facebook and Ravelry groups.
We are also happy to receive donations of supplies for our on-site learn to knit, crochet, or spin classes.  These material donations will be acknowledged to class participants and listed in the event program.

In addition, if you would like to donate a door prize for the event, please let us know what you have to offer!

Email for more information.  Payment must be received no later than March 14.
