Charity Project

This year The Homespun Yarn Party and Knitters and Crocheters Care are collecting knit and crocheted hats for HomeStretch ( a 501(c)(3) that serves homeless families in Falls Church, VA. We will be creating and collecting hats for adults and children. You can drop off your hats at the Knitters and Crocheters charity table at the Homespun Yarn Party on Sunday, March 24, 2013. If you prefer, we will also accept other cold weather wearables, such as mittens, gloves, socks and sweaters.

Additionally, if you’re looking to destash - Knitters and Crocheters Care is collecting yarn for charity projects and charitable organizations throughout the DC metro area.

You can also grab your knitting needles and/or your crochet hooks, and come and knit/crochet with us. You are welcome to bring your own yarn, however, we will also provide charity yarn for you to work with.

Hope you can participate!! There will be prizes!

Become a sponsor!

Would you like to get your local yarn store or other crafty business in front of the 500 avid crafters who attend the Homespun Yarn Party? Read on!

We are entirely volunteer-coordinated and proud to support independent artists and local yarn shops.  To help pay for postcards to spread the word and for our party space, we are offering two sponsorship levels:

--For $35, your name and location/website will be listed in our program, and linked on our blog for a full year.  We will also make a separate blog post featuring your business (we will send you a questionnaire and you may include your logo or a photo of your products in the blog post).
--For $100, in addition to the link and profile post, you will be able to submit up to four blog posts throughout the year, announcing sales, special offers, or events.
All sponsors will be announced and thanked during the event, and listed on our sponsor board, which will be prominently displayed at the entrance.
We are also happy to receive donations of supplies for our on-site learn to knit, crochet, or spin classes.  These material donations will be acknowledged to class participants and listed in the event program.

In addition, if you would like to donate a door prize for the event, please let us know what you have to offer!

Email for more information.  Payment must be received no later than March 1.
