2012: TayloredFibers

Taylored Fibers

TayloredFibers started with the passing of my mentor, Alice Lohr of the Drafting Zone. I offer rainbow dyed yarns and fibers much like they did. I dye in vibrant color ways for unique knit/crochet/woven items. My primary is focus on the finer fibers such as alpaca, silk blends, fine wools.

2012: Kate's Cauldron

Kate's Cauldron

If I give you some wool, you’ll need a spindle to make yarn. If you spin the yarn, you’ll want to make a wrap. If you make a wrap, you’ll need a pin to close it…

I’ve spindles, handspun and recycled yarn, shawl pins, buttons, fiber and fun to share!

2012: Alpaca Yarn Arts

Alpaca Yarn Arts

Hand dyed alpaca batts for spinning, felting kits, natural and dyed llama, alpaca and wool for dolls puppets and felting, needle-felted dyeable alpaca sheets, and felting kits. Natural alpaca fiber makes lovely felted sheets for sewing or further felting. Choose hand dyed fleece or felt flowers for embellishment.

2012: Dragonfly Fibers

Dragonfly Fibers

I make artisan-dyed yarn and spinning fiber in deep, rich and sometimes shockingly bright colors. I also carry Trindles (a unique drop spindle) and patterns from indie designers. All of my yarns and fibers represent what I like to knit and wear: merino and bfl wool, silk, seacell, cashmere, camel down, and bamboo. I absolutely love watching the color take hold in the pot and being surprised by the ways the dyes and fibers interact.

2012: Slippery Slope Farm

Slippery Slope Farm

We are a small family farm in Southern MD that focuses on fine fiber animals. We have merino sheep, pygora goats, and angora rabbits. We have white and natural colored merino that has been professional carded into roving. We have processed white and dyed pygora fiber in clouds and roving. And raw angora fiber in white, grey, and opal color. Our products are geared towards hand spinners and felters. Since most of my fibers are white and natural colored, our products are also great for those interested in dying. In three years, I hope to have hand-dyed and hand-spun yarn available for knitters who do not spin.

We also have a line of all-natural goat's milk soap, lotion, and herbal products.

2012: The Camel Shoppe

New to us this year is the Camel Shoppe!

I create handspun hand dyed yarn, hand dyed spinning fibers and hand dyed commercially spun yarns. I dye the fibers and yarns in small batches resulting in unique one-of-a-kind results. I have a degree in fine art and bring that color sensibility to the dye process.

Looking forward to some pretty colors!
