How long have you been in business, and what inspired you to start your business?

Three Ravens Studio has been in business for 13 years as a fiber and yarn vendor! I originally started out as a bath and body person who was spinning as a hobby, but the yarn kept piling up faster than I could knit it, and I decided to add it to my shop. It quickly took over as my obsession and I expanded to fibers, then weaving. It was the best decision I ever made!

What's your favorite thing about being a yarnie and maker?
It's a toss up between watching yarn and fiber come from my hands and go out into the world to help make beautiful projects happen, and getting to meet all the amazing, cool people in the fiber world.

Is your shop involved in any charity or educational efforts you’d like to let people know about?

My shop regularly gives to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization - https://www.rainn.org/

I have been in business for 20 years. My knitting friends inspired me to move into knitting accessories when they saw the type of jewelry that I made. Knitters helped my business to grow into what it is today.

What's your favorite thing about being a maker?
I love making things that make people happy by providing useful tools and creative accessories.

2019: Wood Rasp Shop

I create unique hardwood shawl, scarf or hair pins from locally found wood. I make two-piece buckle and pin fastening designs and wood buttons in a variety of shapes and sizes. All are shaped, sanded and oiled by hand then buffed to a jewel finish.

I prep, dye, and blend beautiful fiber to spin or felt, as well as make handspun yarn from those fibers for others to use. I also create weavings, wearables, jewelry and home decor like hanging plant podlets from natural materials like crystals, wood, and copper combined with my handspun yarn.

Pursuing my love of beautiful wood grain, I create unique, handmade wood pins to be used as shawl/hair pins or ornamentals for any knitted or crocheted wearables. I also make unique buttons.  All my pieces are hand shaped, finished and oiled then buffed with Carnauba wax to a jewel finish.
